Roger Pineda is a retired U.S. Army CBRN Officer who assumed duties as the Egypt and KSA Country Lead for USCENTCOM J5-C PNCB on 1 September 2022. The J5-C PNCB conducts operations and activities to build partner nation capacities to counter WMD proliferation, respond to CBRN consequence management, and increase interoperability with U.S. and other partner nations to prevail in a CBRN environment. 

Mr. Pineda is from Monterey, California. He graduated from San Jose State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and a Master of Science in Environmental Management from Webster University in 2010. His military education includes the Joint and Combined Warfighting School Joint Professional Military Education II, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, NATO Officer CBRN Defense Policy Course, CWMD Senior Staff Planners Course, Civil Support Team Skills Course, CBRN Technical Escort Course, Joint Biological Point Detection System Course, CBRN Captains Career Course, and the CBRN Basic Officer Leader Course. 

Mr. Pineda’s career spanned over 25 years as a CBRN Officer and Infantry Soldier. He served as the Deputy Commander for the 3rd Chemical Brigade, Executive Officer (XO) and Training Officer (S3) for the 23rd CBRNE Battalion in South Korea, Commander for the 501st CBRNE Company in South Korea, Commander for the 7th CBRN Company (Biological Detection), Company XO and Platoon Leader for the 51st CBRN Company (Former FOX CBRN Reconnaissance Company). Mr. Pineda also served as a Staff Officer in the NATO Allied Rapid Reaction Corps in the United Kingdom, International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) CJ5 Planner in Kabul Afghanistan, I Corps CBRN Planner, 2nd Infantry Division CBRN Planner in South Korea and Battalion Adjutant (S1), Training Officer (S3), and Logistics Officer (S4) in the 83rd CBRN Battalion. 

His awards include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Army Meritorious Service Medal (3), Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (2) and various other Joint, Army and unit awards and decorations.
