Dr Patricia Buckley

Deputy Division Chief CBRNE Assessment of Research & Operations Directorate, US Army DEVCOM CBC

Dr. Patricia Buckley serves as the Deputy Division Chief of the Sensor Technologies and Biomaterials Division at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center (CBC).  

Dr. Buckley has over 20 years of experience working in CWMD research and development at CBC, where she leads teams of scientists exploring interdisciplinary efforts to develop new concepts, models, and techniques to advance mission requirements and realize new capabilities for the warfighter.

Specifically, one of her teams is merging electrical engineering, AI/ML models, and classical animal behavioral methods to modernize canine training and deliver improved and fieldable detection capabilities, including explosives and energetics detection. 

Patricia earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Pathology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, a M.S. in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University, and a B.S. in Biology from James Madison University.
