Oscar Olarte is a Senior Researcher at the Royal Military Academy (RMA) of Belgium, specializing in applied spectrometry, hyperspectral imaging, and advanced data analysis for defence and security applications. Affiliated with the 4D Perception Lab, his research focuses on the development of modular sensor payloads and the characterization of complex systems using active and passive spectroradiometers. 

Dr. Olarte holds a PhD in Engineering Sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where he pioneered statistical methods for fractional-order system identification. His recent work involves the synthetic generation of GC-IMS records via deep learning and the optimization of experimental designs for chemical sensing. With a deep background in instrumentation and biomedical signal processing, he specializes in delivering high-precision measurement solutions for operational environments, making significant contributions to the reliability of field-deployable CBRNe detection technologies.
