Went for CBRNE Specialisation course to be certified as Instructor in Australia before attending CBRNE courses in various countries as well as IAEA and OPCW in order to enhance his knowledge in the field. Also hold qualification in Master in Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism. One of the pioneers for Malaysian Armed Forces CBRNE Units, he rose to the rank from Operation Officer to Commander of the unit. He is one of the panels involved in planning the training for all branches of Special Forces between Malaysia and Indonesia.

Had been giving lectures at national and international level especially in the subject of CBRNE Terrorism. As well was one of the panels that involved in the writing of Malaysia Armed Forces Doctrine concerning the Operation in CBRN Environment for the Army, Navy and Air Force. Apart from being invited by Southeast Asia Centre for Counter Terrorism to give lectures on CBRN related subject since 2007, he also involved in writing the first Malaysia CBRN Handbook.

Retired in January 2018, currently he is working as freelance in the field of Environmental, Security and Safety and Health. He is also the CEO of a company name Salvo JFI, specialising in CBRNE training at the level of Basic, Intermediate and Instructor.
