Maj Gen Lin, President, National Defense Medical University, Taiwan
Dr. Chih-Yuan Lin is the President of the National Defense Medical University and a distinguished cardiovascular surgeon and professor. With an M.D. from the National Defense Medical Center and a Ph.D. from National Yang-Ming University, he has built an extensive career spanning leadership, clinical practice, and research. Dr. Lin has served in key senior roles, including Superintendent of the Tri-Service General Hospital Keelung Branch and Director of the Institute of Preventive Medicine. Trained at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Berlin Heart Institute, he specializes in complex cardiac, congenital, and vascular surgeries, as well as advanced endovascular therapies and ECMO management. His research focuses on vascular biology, angiogenesis, heart failure, and cardiovascular complications in chronic kidney disease. Dr. Lin is also an active leader in multiple surgical societies and continues to advance military and academic medicine.
