Mr. Smith is dual-hatted and serves as the CPE-CBRND’s Strategic Stakeholder Engagement Officer to the United States European Command and United States Africa Command.  In this role, Mr. Smith serves as the focal point for efforts to improve materiel readiness of U.S. and Coalition Warfighters in two separate and distinct Geographic Combatant Commands (GCC) encompassing 104 countries. The AOR contains the most sophisticated CBRN threat environment, many of our most CBRN capable Allies and some of the most relevant areas consistently dealing with the handling of infectious diseases of operational importance to U.S. forces.  He routinely leads multi-functional teams to assist in building partner capacity efforts allowing critical Mission Partners to develop institutionalized skills in all aspects CBRN preparedness. In conjunction with the USEUCOM and USAFRICOM staffs, subordinate Commands, interagency and coalition partners, the JPEO-CBRND continually expands its efforts to achieve the U.S. National Security goals in this critical part of the globe.
