COL Lim is currently the Commander of Engineer Training Institute in the Singapore Armed Forces. In this role, COL Lim oversees all aspects of Combat Engineer training, inclusive of the training and safety systems, and Combat Engineer doctrinal matters. 

In his previous stint, COL Lim held the appointment of Commander, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosive Defence Group (CBRE DG), Singapore Armed Forces. 

Over the course of his career, COL Lim has served in a variety of staff, operation and leadership roles including Head of Current Operations Branch, General Staff (Operations); G3 (Current Operations), HQ Island Defence Task Force; Head Training and Learning System Branch, HQ 6th Singapore Division; and Commanding Office, 39th Battalion Singapore Combat Engineers.
