Preparedness and Response Authority
Charlotte Renckens is the Deputy Head of Unit of the Emergency Office of the European Commission’s Health Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA). HERA is a new organisation established after Covid-19, aiming to ensure the availability and accessibility of medical countermeasures in the EU. In that capacity, she coordinates i.a. the response to health threats (e.g. monkeypox) and the work on stockpiling medical countermeasures.
Previously, Charlotte worked as a policy officer in the Commission’s counter-terrorism unit, where she worked i.a. on regulating chemicals that can be used as explosives precursors, and where she authored the EU’s counter-terrorism strategy.
