David Restione is the Chief Technology Officer for the Joint Program Executive Office Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO CBRND) which is the advanced development and acquisition command for CBRN Defense for the USA. He is currently detailed to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Chemical and Biological Defense Program as the Director of a pilot program looking at physiological monitoring using wearable devices. His responsibilities at the JPEO-CBRND are to foster innovation at the JPEO, to provide oversight on technologies and capabilities in development in laboratories, academia and industry and to serve as the Commands Senior C-WMD Advisor. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Restione served at the Pentagon in support of the Under Secretary of Defense (Intelligence), USD(I) for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR). He was a Principal Professional Staff member at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and led efforts supporting US Special Forces and the Intelligence Community for countering WMD threats. Mr. Restione has a Bachelor of Science in Physics degree from Lafayette College and a Masters of Physics from The Johns Hopkins University.
