George Antonopoulos is a Lieutenant Colonel of the Hellenic Police. He is an EOD-IEDD specialist since 2003. Today he is the commander of the C-IED Unit in Athens.
He participated in several trainings on IED and CBRN courses in his country and abroad. He teaches at the National Police Academy in subjects related to C-IEDs, risk assessment, bomb threat and on-scene management. Over the last years, he has been involved (implementation, management and coordination) in EU and Nationally Funded R&D projects, regarding security, crisis management, critical infrastructure protection as an associate researcher at the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA), of the Hellenic Ministry of Citizen Protection.
He holds a Bachelor degree in Law and a Master degree in Operations Research.
